Tuesdays are for butter!

This afternoon, let's talk about Cupuaçu butter. This is another one that has quickly become one of my favorites.

I read an article on ncbi.nlm.gov from The Journal of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists. (one heck of a mouthful!)

So many people, me included, take skin care for granted. I tend to remember to use lotion only once my skin is already dry. (these solid lotion bars are helping me break that habbit)

Cupuaçu butter is also known as Theobroma grandiflorum seed butter. It comes from the Cupuaçu tree that is found in Northern Brazil in the Amazon rainforest. The tree does not have to be damaged toake this butter. It comes from the fruit from the tree.

It is a plant based alternative to Lanolin, which is known as a problem for many people.

This butter is absorbed very quickly and retains moisture like nobodies business!

This makes this butter extra amazing as it can help restore elasticity while and provide antioxidants and hydration.

There are so many amazing properties to this butter from it's ability to moisturize, to it's ability to absorb UV radiation keeping it from reaching your skin.

It is loaded with "phytosterols" (had never heard of this before) which are literally just amazing for the skin. Many people use it to help treat eczema and psoriasis. The Amazons have been using this for centuries!

Where has this butter been all my life!

And if you want to know how to pronounce it, check out this YouTube video. https://youtu.be/vSPfxS_XKlo

It's been fun talking about Cupuaçu butter!
