Ingredients and what they are

Since I am doing comparisons about the ingredients that are used commercially vs. the ingredients that small businesses such as myself use, I thought an ingredient dictionary might be helpful. (even if only for me, LOL)
Butters - are the essential fats and minerals that are extracted from natural ingredients (mango, kokum, cupuacu, etc.) Each butter will vary in its unique texture, rigidity, and absorbency
My favorite butters so far are Mango butter, Cupuacu butter and Kokum butter.
I have some Sal (shorea) butter on the way and am excited to try it out. This website has a lot of information on this new butter and is just one of the resources I looked at when deciding to purchase this one. https://www.theplantguru.com/page/what-you-need-to-know-about-sal-seed-butter/ I have already discussed the other three butters on my blog, so I can give this new butter a little attention here. You can check out my other blog posts if you want to learn more about the other butters mentioned here.
Shorea Butter or Sal Butter comes from the "sal tree" which originates in India. This butter is good for skin and hair, and works in a number of different ways. I am excited to put it in my solid lotion bars, my whipped soaps, sugar scrubs and even in my shampoo bars!
I will come back again and add to this installment of ingredients to give you an idea of the types of natural ingredients I am using in my products.
Talk soon.
