Solid lotion bars are amazing. Portable, easy to use, easy to store.
My solid lotion bar ingredients:
Butter (i.e. mango, kokum, cupuacu...)
Oil (i.e. sweet almond, avocado, grapeseed, safflower...)
Wax (i.e. beeswax, candelilla (vegan substitute))
Fragrance
Color (if added)
Commercially available lotion ingredients:
I actually have to compare to liquid lotion because it is really only small businesses that are making solid lotion bars. I did not find any commercially available (big companies) that make solid lotion bars.
Here is an ingredient list for liquid lotion, not exactly portable:
Water
Mineral Oil
Isohexadecane
Glycerin
Petrolatum
PEG-40 Sorbitan Perisostearate
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil
Fragrance
Citric Acid
Sodium Citrate
Potassium Sorbate
Again, not saying there is anything wrong with the commercially available item, but do you really need all those ingredients? My three (to five with scent/color) ingredient lotion bar can do the same thing as this multi-ingredient lotion.
Might be worth giving it a try?
Next, I will do a comparison of my bath fizzies (bombs) with a commercially available one.
